You’ve heard the old saying…”Many Hands Make Light Work.”
It is so true. By letting go and delegating, you are able to accomplish so much more than you could all by yourself.
The word “delegation” seems so impersonal yet it is an important step in the growth of your business. Building a team isn’t hiring just anyone to do a task. It takes finding the right people who will help you accomplish your goals.
As a business owner, you are a leader and it is up to you to convey our goals, philosophies, work ethic, and overall direction of your business. You don’t have to have all the answers, but you are the one that sets the overall tone of your business. Building your team is crucial in your business growth.
Teams have many components. Sure, the first thing you may think of when building a team are employees, but teams go beyond employees. If you don’t have employees, you still need a team. If you do have employees, you have team players that aren’t on your payroll.
Your team should consist of people who encourage you, yet will give you honest and objective opinions. You need people to “talk you down from the ledge” when things get stressed. Who on your team is the person that inspires you to keep going and helps you generate new ideas? Do you have someone that can help you with the tasks that you struggle with?
The beautiful thing about having great team members, is they WANT to help. They WANT to do a good job for you. They WANT the company to succeed.
I know I’m appreciative of my team and they help me stretch my abilities so that I can grow as a person and business owner. They give me ideas. They work on projects and find ways to improve our processes. We work through problems together and celebrate together.
Just remember, as you are growing your business, the Scrivener Solutions team is here for you so you will accomplish more. Many hands do make light work.
